Figawi & Bermuda

Max said "Come on over, do the race and then help crew the boat to Bermuda! It will be a laugh, we will have a ball!"
Well, we had plenty of laughs, but a few tears too as the weather increasingly got worse and worse on our trip south
to Bermuda. With 40 knot winds and 25 foot waves I certainly got a great introduction to off shore sailing!

Crucial planning for the race.

The weather was pretty poor for all 130 yachts.
Safely moored in Nantucket
with Foxfire along side.
I can't really remember much about the
evening in Nantucket after the race.
We all had a good time apparently!

After sailing in the Figawi Yacht Race from Hyannis in Cape Cod to Nantucket Island on Saturday 24th May 2003
Max Clissold and his intrepid crew made final preparations for the crossing to Bermuda.
