Buenos Aires

Back Up

After celebrating Jimmy's birthday on April 26th I left for my final weekend in
Buenos Aires before returning home. I flew from Mendoza back to Santiago de Chile
then onto the Argentinean capital arriving early evening. Stayed with Helen and Kristy
in the barrio of Belgrano. Great people - recommend their hospitality anytime!

Cementerio de la Recoleta, a small city of the dead within the centre of Buenos Aires. The crypt where Maria Eva Duarte de Perón lies. Better know as EVITA! A necropolis where, in death as in life, generations of Argentina's elite rest in ornate splendour.

La Boca at the port was built
up by Italian immigrants.
The colourful houses are said to come from the paint the people begged from the visiting ships La Boca is now on the tourist trail for its Tango, art and cafe society.

Helen would not forgive me if I didn't mention that La Boca is home to Boca Juniors.
One of the best South American soccer teams. http://www.bocajuniors.com.ar/
